NWAS Corporate Consultant Paramedic Steve Bell presented the medals on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen.

Eligible emergency services personnel received the medals as a token of the nation’s thanks and to celebrate The Queen’s 70-year reign. Set nationally by the Department of Health and Social Care , the eligibility criteria for the medals were only open to emergency services staff.Those eligible include emergency services personnel who have been in the paid service.

They must have publicly faced the prospect of dealing with emergencies as part of their conditions of service, having completed five full calendar years on 6 February 2022.
