RTÉ said it has now completed a review of the remuneration of its top 10 most highly paid on-air presentersIrish TV presenter Ryan Tubridy was paid €345,000 more than was declared publicly, the national broadcaster RTÉ has admitted.The payments were uncovered after auditors raised concerns.RTÉ’s board said it had now corrected the public record and has published accurate earnings figures for Mr Tubridy.
A payment made by a commercial partner was in exchange for a number of personal appearances, the board said in a statement. "The commercial partner did not renew this agreement for a second year, and since the agreement was guaranteed and underwritten by RTÉ, the payments were instead made directly by RTÉ to Mr Tubridy's agent ."
