Russell Brand is facing a lawsuit from an actress who alleges she was sexually assaulted by him on a US film set. The anonymous woman, known as Jane Doe in the New York State Supreme Court documents, claims the incident happened in July 2010 during the filming of Arthur.
Jane Doe further alleges that Russell Brand followed her into a bathroom later that day and assaulted her. According to the court papers, she "continues to struggle with the resultant trauma", and her lawyers have requested to keep her identity hidden to minimise further harm. Warner Bros Pictures and other companies involved in the film are also listed as defendants, according to the legal documents.
In September, the police force confirmed they had received a "number of allegations of sexual offences in London" and other parts of the country.The comedian and actor has firmly denied the accusations made by four women in an investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4's Dispatches.
