🔴 Russia 'hiding ammunition in civilian lorries' to protect remaining equipment in Ukraine

It was reported earlier this month that Washington has recently started supplying Kyiv with an alternative HIMARS munition capable of destroying vehicles and troops over a wide area. Until now, Ukraine has only had available rockets with a single warhead capable of damaging larger, immobile targets.

The Centre for National Resistance, which co-ordinates anti-Russian partisan activity, called on Ukrainians to protest if attempts were made to park the “bomb trucks” near homes. It said: “Russian troops are using long trucks as mobile ammunition depots. Vehicles are scattered in residential blocks and periodically change their location.

A Western security source said the Kremlin was seeking to move smaller consignments of munitions more quickly to front lines, thereby reducing concentrations of weaponry, as well as trying to unify its command structure to provide fewer targets. Oryx, a respected Dutch-based open-source intelligence website plotting Moscow’s losses in the war, said it had visually confirmed the destruction or capture of 7,531 tanks and heavy armour in the last eight months – an increase of some 500 in the last fortnight.
