Russia has warned that any nation that hosts Ukrainian warplanes could be pulled into armed conflict – as the US gives the go-ahead for Poland to send planes to help the war-torn country.
The president told 280 US lawmakers his country’s air force was destroyed on the first day of Vladimir Putin’s invasion, a member of Congress said to be on the video call claims.

But the Kremlin cautioned countries against attacking the Russian forces from the territory of those nations on Sunday. ‘The use of the airfield network of these countries for basing Ukrainian military aviation with the subsequent use of force against Russia’s army can be regarded as the involvement of these states in an armed conflict.’
