BREAKING: Russian bombs hit radioactive waste disposal site as troops enter key city.
Russia appears to have begun a new phase of its Ukraine invasion by pummelling airfields, gas pipelines and a radioactive waste site overnight.
Street fighting is now under way in the city, which is located just 12 miles south of the Russian border. Earlier President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office said Russian forces had blown up a gas pipeline in Kharkiv as huge explosions were heard overnight.Flames billowed into the sky before dawn from an oil depot near an air base in Vasylkiv, where there has been intense fighting, according to the town’s mayor.There was another explosion at the civilian Zhuliany airport.has confirmed that missiles hit a radioactive waste disposal site near Kyiv.
