Support for the war was higher among men than women, and in rural areas rather than cities
Just 38 per cent of the public said that they definitely support “the actions of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine,” down from a peak of 52 per cent in March 2022, according to new data from Russia’s leading pollster Levada, which has been designated a foreign agent by the Kremlin along withA total of 21 per cent said they probably or definitely do not support Russian actions in Ukraine, up from 14 per cent in 2022. A further 32 per cent expressed moderate support and 10 per cent had no view.
Support for the war was higher among men, with 45 per cent expressing strong support compared to 32 per cent of women.were strongly in favour, a figure that rose to 40 per cent in villages.
