'It’s worrying, upsetting and heartbreaking'
People across Northampton have reacted with sadness following the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old student in the town on Sunday night, April 23. Sunday's incident is the second fatal stabbing to rock the town since the death of schoolboy Rohan Shand, who was known as Fred, on March 22.
Quinton Green, the founder of charity Knife Crime Victim Support, said: "It has only been four weeks since the death of Rohan Shand in Kingsthorpe and the town is still reeling and mourning the loss of the 16 year old schoolboy who was tragically killed on his way home in March. "It's such a sad state of affairs for everyone", she continued, including the families of the four arrested. "It really is sadness people feel at the loss of life. It keeps happening with young people."
"Far Cotton is still a close-knit community. It is resilient as it is strong, so I am appealing for anyone who has any information to report it to the Police as a matter of urgency. I would also appeal that we do not speculate about this on social media.
