A savvy Scottish mum has revealed show she can make Christmas dinner for just £5.71 per portion and she doesn't scrim on the portion sizes.For the meat and veg, Lorna used a turkey hamper from online healthy food retailer MuscleFood to cut the costs of her family’s Christmas dinner. With plenty of food leftover from the hamper, she froze the ingredients to make a turkey and leak pie, reports the Daily Record.
Lorna, who runs the site ‘Feed Your Family’, said: “After the last couple of years, it’s more important who’s around the table than what’s on it. Lots of families across the UK have been left wondering how they will put food on the table this Christmas which is why Lorna wanted to share her tips for cutting costs.
“If I know most people coming over don’t like brussels sprouts, I simply won’t cook them as it’ll be a waste of money. Lorna also makes cheaper alternatives to traditional Christmas food such as homemade yule logs and large pigs in blankets. On Boxing Day, Lorna likes to use the leftovers from the Christmas dinner and make them into meals for the rest of the week.
