Fraudulent posts on Facebook are leaving people open to theft and computer viruses

Tech experts have warned that fraudulent posts on Facebook, which claim to offer a golden ticket to spend at Marks and Spencer, are leaving people open to theft and computer viruses. While it is an attractive prospect, the retailer has confirmed that the offer is completely fake, reports Wales Online.

Unfortunately, if something seems too good to be true, it usually is, and the same can be said for this fake offer. Victims who fall for it are encouraged to click fake web links which can infect computers with viruses and steal money from financial accounts. It is important to remember that images shared online can be easily manipulated through the use of online tools like Photoshop, a tactic that is regularly seen in online scams. "We’ve investigated this and can confirm this is not a genuine deal," a spokesman for M & S said.
