Jim Goldie, 12, climbed Screel three years to the day after a liver transplant saved his life.

Annan Academy pupil Jim Goldie climbed the equivalent of Ben Nevis three years to the day after a liver transplant that saved his life.

“He had a massive operation in Leeds at just 12 days old to attach his liver straight onto his gut. We were told afterwards that the operation had bought us some time.” “I’d just dropped him off at school and was approaching a set of traffic lights when I got the call. My husband was out fixing a water trough when he heard.

Jim was joined by big brother Niall – and his teddy Rosie who was with him throughout his operation. He was desperate to complete the challenge and give back to the children’s ward who did so much for him while he was unwell.
