Police have now launched an investigation into the incident
Emergency services were called to Gadie Street in the Riddrie Area shortly before 6am after receiving reports of a car ablaze. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent a single fire engine to the scene and put out the fire in around 20 minutes.
Signs of fire damage are evident towards the rear of the car, where the paintwork has been burned around the fuel filler cap. The rear tyre has also burst, potentially from the heat and pressure of the flames.
