Police officers watched Mohammed Samad’s Lamborghini Urus repeatedly break the limit in 30 and 50mph zones

A top dentist caught speeding as he showed off his sports car told cops he’d been “giving it the beans”. .

Airdrie Sheriff Court heard that police waiting at a junction saw his powerful car accelerating past at 9.45pm on October 22, 2021. Jennifer McNichol, prosecuting, said: “The officers joined the A80 near Chryston but the Lamborghini was several hundred yards away and still accelerating. Samad eventually did a U-turn on a roundabout then drove back in the opposite direction before stopping when the police car’s blue lights were activated. McNichol told the court: “He freely stated, ‘I was giving it the beans’. It emerged he’d had the car for only three days.”

Defence advocate Sarah Livingstone said his speed was “no greater than the high 60s” in the 50 zone and slower on sections where the limit was 30 miles an hour.
