Emergency services were called to the Alloway Street area of Ayr at around 5pm on Friday, August 18, following reports of falling debris.
Images show part of the facade of The Popular Supply Store which sits above the former M&Co store had fallen to the pavement bellow.
Officers shut the road for a time to allow the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to remove part of the exterior of the building to stop further debris from falling.A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "Around 5pm on Friday, 18 August, 2023 we were called to reports of damage to a building on Alloway Street, Ayr.
