Chris Denehy spotted a mass of compass jellyfish while out on a paddle in Scottish waters earlier this week, and captured dramatic photos of the 'jelly fish soup'.
A kayak tour guide has shared incredible photos of a mass of jellyfish in the waters off a Scottish island.while out on a paddle earlier in the week on the Isle of Barra. He described wading through the poisonous marine animals as like"kayaking in jelly fish soup".
Chris added:"Over the last 25 years I have seen large groups of jellyfish over the summer months when we are out kayaking, but this was totally exceptional and fascinating to have such a close up encounter.Compass jellyfish can be found in UK waters between May and October. Chris Denehy runs sea kayak guiding company Clearwater Paddling, which is based on the Scottish Isle of Barra.
