Leanne McCann said she initially thought it was a false alarm after hearing a neighbour's smoke alarm go off at around 7pm.
A Fife mum has been left 'traumatised' after being forced to leave her beloved cat behind as they fled their flat amid a devastating fire.
Leanne couldn't find their little black and white cat when they were ordered to leave, so fled the growing flames without him. "At first we weren't worried about him because we didn't think it was serious but when we got outside and seen all the smoke, the firefighters and the other residents, I knew it must have been bad.
Leanne has now been told the fire did not spread to her bottom floor flat, however the property has been extremely water damaged. She has not been allowed back inside since. Leanne said Leo might have been recovered safely, but she doesn't have the same hope for her belongings.
