The issues were later compounded by a power outrage that affected the block intermittently overnight.
Residents of a Scots block of flats were left without water for more than a day, prompting hygiene concerns.
Penella said: "It's been a nightmare. It fell on the worst weekend as my nine-year-old daughter, Bella, and my partner were at a colour bomb festival yesterday and obviously covered in powder paint. To make matters worse for the elderly residents in the building, the lift is currently out of order. Penella said she and others were in a "constant battle" with local authority officers and officials from Scottish Water and Scottish Power for answers and solutions.
