Both born on September 28, 1922, the women have lived in Glasgow for most of their lives, and were eager to share their experiences - as staff provided cake, balloons and entertainment.
Two Scottish friends are celebrating their 101st birthday - on the same day and in the same care home north of the Border.
Janet, brought up in Dennistoun in Glasgow's east end, worked as an electrician at the Clyde shipyards during the Second World War - as one of only five women working in the industry at the time. "After the war, I moved on to work in the Co-operative in Glasgow and was a manager in there until I retired."
Top news stories today Ann was brought up on Glasgow's south side, by King's Park, working in a knitwear factory for most of her life - but thoroughly enjoyed travelling and experiencing various communities.
