Livingston Sheriff Court was shown shocking video footage of Jak Biggam and Jakub Blawicki's terrifying assault on David Walker and a woman who tried to defend him.
A young thug who repeatedly booted a man on the head when he was lying unconscious on the ground has been sentenced to a year's detention. Jak Biggam, 21, broke David Walker's cheekbone in the violent attack in a shopping centre car park, a court heard.
He returned to attack the unconscious man again and again as he lay on the ground, determined to continue his vicious assault despite the best efforts of his victim's friends to stop him. He appeared for sentence at Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday after earlier pleading guilty on indictment to carrying out the attack outside Livingston Centre in West Lothian on May 14, 2022.
Blawicki, 21, also pled guilty to assaulting David while acting with another. He admitted repeatedly punching him to the head and knocking him to the ground causing him to lose consciousness to his severe injury. Christine Brownlie, prosecuting said the two accused and David had been drinking in separate groups in the Paraffin Lamp pub before the confrontation outside shortly before 10pm.
