Two Scottish chippies took home prizes at the National Fish and Chip Awards on Tuesday
The ceremony, which was held on February 28 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London, saw both The Fish Works in Largs and The Real Food Café in Tyndrum recognised. The former took home the NFFF Quality Accreditation Champion prize, as well as finishing third in the prestigious Fish & Chip Takeaway of the Year Award, while the latter won the From Field to Frier Award.
Taking to Facebook to share the news, The Fish Works wrote: "The Fish Works Team are so proud to have won these trophies at this years National Fish & Chip Awards. "And it was almost a double win, after we were just pipped to the post in the Takeaway of the year category finishing in third place. We are delighted to be to among this years winners who represented the industry in such a great way.
Meanwhile, The Real Food Café commented: "Thank you one and all for the deluge of messages, likes, comments and love following our win earlier today at the National Fish and Chip Awards organised by the National Federation of Fish Friers.
