Murray's exit comes just weeks before Moy are due to face Kildress in their Tyrone Intermediate Championship opener

Sean Cavanagh is set to take on a player-manager role with the Moy after the Tyrone side parted company with Kevin Murray last week.

That loss prompted much soul-searching within the club and it was agreed that the Lámh Dhearg clubman would step down.Murray, who is also the joint-manager of the Queen's Sigerson Cup team along with Conor Deegan, was appointed as Moy’s senior boss ahead of the 2022 season and they gave eventual champions Errigal Ciaran an almighty scare in the first round of the Senior Championship.

However, Moy went on to lose their senior status when they were relegated to Division Two as Darren McCurry’s 13-point haul saw them lose a play-off to Edendork. They’ve been drawn against Kildress in round one, which is scheduled for the weekend of September 23-24.
