THE bodies of the passengers of the doomed Titanic submarine may never be recovered as the search effort has reportedly been called off.

Pelagic Recovery Services , who were aiding the recovery mission, confirmed that they had "completed off-shore operations" earlier today.The US Coast Guard is currently working to identify some human remains that have already been discoveredSome human remains were discovered from the area in the North Atlantic where the sub descended to visit the wreck of the RMS Titanic.

However, they are yet to be identified and it is now unlikely that the passengers' families will be able to lay them to rest.Five men were killed when the craft suffered a "catastrophic implosion" during its descent on June 18.
