GMFRS say they have water incident and technical response units at the scene - latest
There is a huge emergency services presence at Salford Quays after reports of a person 'getting into difficulty' in the water. Police, firefighters and the ambulance service are at the scene this evening.
Greater Manchester Police said a specialist search team has been deployed as the emergency response continues. In a statement, the force said: "We were called at around 6.15pm to a report of a person getting into difficulty into the water at Salford Quays."Emergency services and specialist search teams are at the scene. The incident is ongoing."
