The base 'should be a great economic boost for the area', the company behind it says.
Up to 130 jobs could be created in a seaside town after it was chosen to house an operations and maintenance base for a wind energy company.
Conservative Graham Plant, deputy leader of Norfolk County Council, said it was "a big deal for Great Yarmouth and the whole of Norfolk". When completed, the wind farm will be able to power about 4.6 million homes, making it one of the largest offshore wind zones in the world, Vattenfall added.
