They were also called to a disturbance just off the A76, at Bowhouse roundabout in Kilmarnock around 3.50pm on Sunday, November 6.
Chief inspector Graeme McLaughlin said:"This kind of behaviour is not acceptable in our communities."Two men, 22 and 23, were arrested and charged in connection with both incidents. A further three men, 23, 23 and 21, were arrested and charged in connection with the Ayrshire disturbance. Following further enquiries, officers attended at a number of addresses in Wishaw, Shotts, Larkhall and Strathaven today, when two men, aged 28 and a teenage boy, 15, were arrested in connection with the Ayrshire incident.The chief said: “A number of arrests have been made in connection with these serious incidents in Lanarkshire and Ayrshire following a robust police investigation into violence.
“I would like to reassure the public that incidents of violence are taken extremely seriously and detailed investigations will always be carried out to trace those responsible.
