Seven things Lancashire still doesn't have but needs after arrival of IKEA, Five Guys and Wagamamas
If you look up Lancashire on the internet you get images of rolling green hills, rural fields and stunning historical architecture but the reality, the one you'll find hidden deeper, is that a lot of the county's city and town centres are desperately in need of some TLC.
While it's always easy to look at what we don't have, it's important to highlight the things Lancashire does have and that is an abundance of local stores run by the people will live amongst. Cafes, restaurants and market stalls are in every nook and cranny of the county, many are yet to be discovered in the way they deserve to be but the uniqueness of the enterprises offer a more charming retail experience.
The tap of an app, an online transaction of a few pounds later and you have just minutes before your speedy ride home picks you up from the exact location you choose. Uber is not new, but for Lancashire it could be great. Archie's The food gods blessed us with a Five Guys so surely we can get an Archie's plonked in one of the many vacant units in the entire county. Archie's take your regular burger and heaps a whole lot more onto it.
John Lewis could prove to be a great replacement saving the trip to Manchester- or surfing online especially at Christmas time when all the gift lists start to accumulate.Selfridges Like the department store, Lancashire locals still have to travel miles to get their hands - physically, not virtually - on those higher-end purchases such as designer bags, clothes, shoes and perfumes. Lancashire could certainly do with a Selfridges nearby.
