FREEZING rain and snow have caused severe disruption at Glasgow Airport with many departures cancelled on Friday morning while some arrivals were diverted to Edinburgh.In a tweet, the airport blamed the cold snap which has taken temperatures acrossto freezing lows this week and said teams had been working through the night to clear the runways and taxiing areas.
The statement read:"Our winter teams have been deployed since midnight clearing the runway and taxiway areas of persistent snow and freezing rain."We would like to thank our passengers for their continued patience and will provide further updates."
