Thousands have seen the Queen visit Lancashire over the years - we'd love to hear some of your memories of her visits
Thousands of people across Lancashire will have their own memories of the time they met the Queen on one of her many royal visits to Lancashire.
Throughout her 70 year reign as monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, was warmly welcomed by crowds each and everytime she came to the county whether it be Blackpool, Lancaster or Burnley. Of course any visit from the Queen came with much excitement, especially for schoolchildren who would often be tasked with making banners and flags to wave to greet her.
Lancashire has long been a special place for Kings and Queens of our country due to the Duchy of Lancaster - with the Queen having held the title of Duke of Lancaster. In fact, one of her last visits to the area was in 2015 when she made the trip to Lancaster Castle as part of celebrations to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the creation of the Duchy of Lancaster.
The Queen then travelled to Myerscough College where she met students from the agricultural department. Other memorable visits included a visit to Blackpool Grand Theatre in 1994, unveiling the statue of Eric Morecambe in Morecambe in 1999 and joining the residents of Preston to celebrate its new city status in 2002.If you're unable to see the box above, click here.
