England boss Shaun Wane has backed uncapped Leeds centre Harry Newman to “turn a corner” during the Test series against Tonga. He has made the 24-man squad despite Wane airing concerns about his discipline only last month.
With Brisbane’s Herbie Farnworth, St Helens’ Mark Percival and Wigan Grand Final man-of-the-match Jake Wardle injured, Newman, 23, is one of only two recognised centres in the squad so is likely to debut. Wane said: “I've had a few chats with him. He's been honest with me and I've been honest with him.
