Drugs warning after man dies at Sheffield Bassfest music festival
Police say anybody who feels ill after taking drugs at the event should seek medical attention
A man has died and several people are seriously ill after they were believed to have taken drugs at a festival. Police issued a warning saying the victims were believed to have used ecstasy or MDMA at the Bassfest event in Sheffield over the weekend.A woman, aged 23, from Ipswich, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition, South Yorkshire Police said.
The force added that "several other people also presented to medical staff after becoming ill with symptoms consistent with having taken drugs". Anybody who felt ill after taking drugs at the event should seek medical attention and urged people to check on family and friends, police said.It featured artists including Chase & Status, Tion Wayne, Bad Boy Chiller Crew and Bru-C.
