An RAC officer pulls the vehicle out of the sea and away from the beach in Essex.
Firefighters were called at 06:50 BST to reports of the black Toyota seen at Shoebury beach near Southend-on-Sea.
The fire service said it not attend, because there was no one in danger, and a patrol officer from the RAC was called instead. An RAC spokesperson said the car was 2ft deep in the water and was pulled 20ft up the beach slipway. They said it was removed using a "heavy duty fan" to "save any further damage and prevent contamination" and that it was later moved "by a specialist recovery vehicle".
