Authorities were seen responding along Amesbury Street, not far from the canal.
A male victim was shot early Tuesday morning after a fight broke out at a restaurant in Lawrence, Massachusetts, according to police.
The Lawrence Police Department responded to a report of a fight just after 1 a.m. Tuesday at the Blue Lounge, on the corner of Canal and Amesbury Streets, according to Detective Thomas Cuddy. As police made their way there, more calls came in reporting shots fired at the same location, officers said.
When authorities arrived, they found a male victim who had apparent gunshot wounds. He was treated at the scene by paramedics and EMTs, before being taken to the hospital. He is expected to recover. Detectives with the Lawrence Police Department were seen overnight, as were evidence markers on the ground in the area.An investigation is ongoing by the Lawrence Police Detectives Division, with the help of the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
