Do you think that Fireworks should be banned outright?
With Hogmanay approaching, we're likely to hear some fireworks through the evening. While most New Year's Eve fireworks are carried out by professionals, some like to set off their own displays.
The Government strengthened fireworks regulation this year, with proxy buying for under-18s now considered to be a criminal offence. But some think that regulations don't go far enough, and that fireworks should be banned outright for everyone besides professionals. One wrote: "Fireworks should not be available to anyone other than trained, licensed, fully insured operators."
"I really don't think that we should criminalize people for using fireworks when the vast majority who do so, do so in a sensible and reasonable manner. If we ban things simply because some people use them irresponsibly then there would be little in life that isn't banned."
