It caused a bit of a stir
Those who continued gazing up at the sky after witnessing the glorious sunset across Nottingham and beyond last night may have spotted something else entirely. People took to social media just before midnight on Tuesday, July 12 saying there had been "apparent sightings of a UFO", but there is a simple explanation.
The sighting comes as people have been left awestruck this week by the images released by the team behind the James Webb Space Telescope. The $10bn telescope launched on December 25 last year and, on the very day the mysterious light was spotted in the sky above Nottingham, the very first images were released.These images revealed some of the oldest galaxies ever seen in what is the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the early universe ever taken.
