Her body was taken for an autopsy in order to 'secure a medical cause of death'
Sinead O'Connor's family have now recieved her body following an autopsy to identify her cause of death.
London Inner South Coroner's Court confirmed that they would make a decision as to whether they will open an inquest after the results of the autopsy are known and following submissions from her relatives. Confirming her death, her heartbroken family said: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."
She had been regularly updating fans on social media and said she planned to create music in the lead up to her death.
