Pop-star and protégé of Eurythmics' Dave Stewart, Faye Fantarrow, 21, has tragically died nearly a year after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive brain tumour

21-year-old singer and songwriter Faye Fantarrow from Sunderland died at home on Saturday.

In a statement, he added: "It's a terrible, terrible loss. She could have really built up a huge following that understood what she was singing about.Her passing was announced by her mother, Pam Fantarrow, who said her daughter was "the brightest star on the darkest night" with "a passion for living."

Faye’s family and friends, along with prominent musicians, had also raised more than £265,00 so that she could travel to California to try out a new treatment.
