A Sinn Féin council election candidate is facing a police probe following allegations of "fraudulent subscription" of nomination papers.
Sinn Féin insisted its nominations for the Ballyclare district electoral area were "in full compliance" with electoral rules.A spokeswoman told Belfast Live: "The council has received a number of complaints alleging fraudulent subscription of the nomination papers for a candidate.
Sarah Ling, interim chief electoral officer, confirmed they have "discussed the options with the council". Mr Magee said he was "very proud" to be "breaking new ground" for the party, and pledged to work with other Sinn Féin representatives to "build a better future for the next generation".
