Ms Eavis said the singer had called her “out of the blue” which had been “quite surreal”.
“I’m starting with a song I haven’t played for about 10 years, so we’ll see how it goes,” he told BBC Radio 1, “I’ve got the set list down, I’ve got rehearsal dates booked for the guest artists, so we just have to hope the weather will still be nice.” Some fans believe Britney may have been teasing a trip to the UK with her recent Instagram post, which appeared to reference the St George flag and fish and chips.
Sir Elton has stressed he is not bidding a complete goodbye to music and has pushed back at claims he is heading into “retirement”.
