Investigation into alleged cover-up resumes six years after man tasered and taunted by police
A long running hearing for two police officers accused of gross misconduct has resumed six months after last sitting, and six years after the alleged wrongdoing.
Further allegations related to the disclosure of that bodycam footage, with accusations that it was deliberately withheld from the Crown Prosecution Service and Mr Pepper's legal representatives. This is strongly denied by the officers. They are due to sit for the rest of the week but fears remain that this still won't be enough time to complete the drawn out proceedings. The panel today heard evidence from PC Prestwich for a second time.
PC Prestwich told the panel it was not unusual for someone not involved in a case to create the case file at that time. She further explained that it would be expected that the officer in charge of an investigation completes the submission.
