A summer bank holiday for people in Scotland is coming up and will see people claiming certain benefits receive their scheduled payments early
. HM Revenue and Customs has published advice for those on Tax Credits due to be paid on Monday, August 7.
However, people due to receive either Working Tax Credits or Child Tax Credits on Monday, August 7, will receive the money on Friday, August 4, instead. Nobody needs to do anything or contact HMRC, these payments will be made automatically. Another bank holiday on Monday, August 28, will see more payments due on that date made earlier - on Friday, August 25. At the moment, guidance on GOV.UK indicates the change will only affect payments due for those receiving Child Benefit and Tax Credits.
