Police Scotland say that a man has been rushed to hospital after being found injured near the Royal Mile.

A huge police presence was seen on the Royal Mile at Crichton's Close after they were alerted to the disturbance at 5.30pm on Friday, August 25.

Eyewitnesses told Edinburgh Live that a number of police cars flocked to Canongate on Friday before taping off Crichton's Close where a man had been found injured.Two police vans were seen outside the Royal Mill Souvenir Shop on the Canongate.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a disturbance and a man having been injured at Crichton’s Close in Edinburgh shortly after 5.30pm on Friday, 25 August.
