Showing gratitude for the efforts of the air ambulance
Twenty years after Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance came to his rescue at a time of need, a man from Stamford and his cyclist friends have raised more than £4,500 for the charity by pedalling coast-to-coast-to-coast.
Whilst out running, he was struck by a car and suffered life-threatening injuries, including an open book pelvis fracture that left him writhing in pain on the ground. It took Barry two years to get back running, and while the effects of his injuries were clear to see, he went on to make a full recovery thanks to the prompt action of the life-saving air ambulance.
Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance seemed the obvious candidate for Barry’s June 29 set-off – and to date he and his friends have raised more than £4,500 for the charity.
