Sir Keir Starmer pledged to maintain the UK’s support of Ukraine if he is elected prime minister next year as he visited for the first time since Russia’s invasion nearly a year ago.
Sir Keir said he wanted to show support for Ukraine’s calls for justice in the International Criminal Court and reparations for Russian actions during the war. Speaking after his meeting with President Zelensky in Kyiv, Sir Keir said: “I had a very constructive meeting with President Zelensky, and we were able to discuss the support that Ukraine needs and the justice that it deserves.
