It is expected to be back in operation this afternoon
Bus services were unable to pick up passengers from Nottingham's Victoria Bus Station over the weekend due to roadworks. National Grid was carrying out the works in Union Road, which has prevented buses stopping at the city centre station from Friday, August 4 to Monday, August 7.
The works started at around 7pm on Friday, and buses are expected to return to the station as part of the normal routes by 1pm on Monday. Due to the roadworks taking place, trentbarton and Stagecoach services that usually stop at the bus station have been using alternative stops. However, the bus station remained open to pedestrians. During this time the red arrow, rainbow one and the two services were using stops in Burton Street instead, whilst the threes service used a stop in Blenheim Court.
A statement on the Transport Nottingham website read: "Buses will be unable to serve Victoria Bus Station from 7pm on Friday 4 August until around 1pm on Monday 7 August. Works are being carried out on Union Road by National Grid, which will make it difficult for buses to leave the bus station. "This means that between 7pm on Friday 4 August and 1pm on Monday 7 August, trentbarton and Stagecoach services that usually serve the Victoria Bus Station will be using alternative stopping arrangements. The bus station will remain open for pedestrians during this time."
