Cinema staff have apologised to customers

An independent popular cinema in Hockley has been forced to close and cancel screenings due to an electrical issue. The Broadway Cinema, on Broad Street, has shared a statement after having to cancel film screenings on Thursday evening, July 13.

The cinema lost power and was unable to run as normal. In an Instagram post, the cinema posted a statement to customers, saying: “Due to an electrical issue, we've unfortunately had to cancel the rest of today's film screenings.You can win four Merlin Gold Passes for a year of free entry to top attractions

"Any tickets bought for the affected screenings today will be refunded or exchanged for an alternative screening at a later date - our Box Office team will be in touch regarding your booking as soon as our power is restored and we're able to re-enter the building." The cinema ended the statement apologising to customers: “Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the issue. Please note, we're currently unable to take phone calls at this time.

“We'll give updates once we've got more info, so please keep an eye online. We're really sorry, folks - please bear with us!”
