West Brom sack manager Steve Bruce after eight months in charge
The Championship outfit currently sit 22nd in the league – their lowest league position in 22 years.Former Newcastle and Aston Villa manager Bruce has been dismissed by West Brom after 32 games in charge‘s dismissal follows his side’s goalless draw with Luton Town at home on Saturday which left them in the relegation zone, with just one league victory on the board this season.
The former Manchester United defender has won just eight of his 32 games in charge at The Hawthorns since he took over from Valérien Ismaël at the beginning of February. The hope had been for the experienced 61-year-old, who has led two Birmingham and Hull to promotion from the Championship, to drive the Baggies towards a return to the Premier League following their relegation in 2018.However, after missing out on the play-offs last season, West Brom have won just once in 13 games in the Championship this campaign, beating Hull City 5-2 in August.In a statement, the club said: “West Bromwich Albion have today parted company with Manager Steve Bruce.
