A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle
Nottinghamshire Police deployed a stinger to stop a van on a major Nottinghamshire road. The force stopped a van, suspected to have been stolen and using cloned plates, after spotting it on the A1 northbound travelling to Five Lane Ends, between Ranby and Upper Morton.
The Citroen van came to a stop after officers deployed a stinger, at around 2.40am on Thursday, October 5. Police say the van is believed to have been stolen from an address in Leeds and was on cloned plates. , going equipped for the theft of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance. The stop comes as police work on an extensive operation to tackle and reduce serious cross-border criminality.Inspector Hayley Crawford, District Commander for Bassetlaw, said: "This was just the latest example of our continuing work to target suspected criminals using our roads.
