Steve Harmison was full of praise for the England cricket team following their win over Pakistan

England’s task in this Test match was made even more difficult by the poor pitch at Rawalpindi, which was described as a ‘road’ by former England cricket captain, Nasser Hussain, as it refused to deteriorate, making it very hard to take wickets. Due to the conditions, Harmison believes had it not been for England’s brave tactics, Test cricket could have come under huge criticism for what might have been an embarrassingly dull game.
“If any other team had played Pakistan this week on Rawalpindi pitch, not only would it have been a draw, it would’ve been talked down as the most embarrassing game of cricket going,” Harmison said.
“But, we’re completely talking about it in a different way and that is largely down to Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, brilliant.”
