Strictly fans in tears as they spot emotional tribute during special BBC 100th anniversary routine
Strictly Come Dancing fans were feeling emotional as they watched a joyful and unusual start to Saturday night's live show. In a change from the usual proceedings the show started with an uplifting montage for the BBC's 100th anniversary.
Newsreader Huw Edwards appeared in the introduction as if he was presenting the news, saying: "Some breaking news, Strictly Come Dancing appears to be taking over the BBC with a feast of sequins and salsas, Strictly has been celebrating the BBC's 100th birthday. But some of us are too busy to dance, we have very serious work to do."
The camera then zoomed out to reveal a ukulele, which he picked up saying: "Do you know what this is? This was named after me.
