Operator Edinburgh Trams were forced to put on a replacement service after a large white Peugeot blocked the Leith route, in the Shore area.
Travellers using Edinburgh's trams were plunged into chaos yesterday when an SUV appeared to block one of the tracks taking passengers to the Leith area.
Passengers were offered the option of using replacement bus services after trams were only able to operate from Balfour Street to Edinburgh Airport. Posting on Twitter, Edinburgh Trams, said at 6.41pm: “Due to a vehicle blocking the track at the Shore, we are currently running part route between Balfour Street and Edinburgh Airport.”
